Dekmantel Festival kicks off with a series of special live concerts on Thursday August 4. Spread across four stunning Amsterdam locations, eight different performances, in- depth lectures, radio shows, dj-sets, music films, a club night and an exquisite food line-up will set the pace for the three-day spectacle to follow.

On the opening night they are heading to the city’s IJ river, to set up shop at several landmark cultural locations. A free ferry service will get you across the river and back, so hop on to visit the EYE Film Museum for an audio-visual celebration of 20 years of Raster-Norton, or a lecture during the Resident Advisor Conference that will get you a look into the psyche of a music ledge.

Set sail to Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ and Bimhuis for airtime at Red Light Radio, or dock to catch afro-beat legend Tony Allen play the lush Tolhuistuin gardens.

The opening night offers a diverse and well-curated program; just make sure to keep afloat.
